With the unique ability to mix house with techno with old-school funk with rock classics and lounge music, DJ Kinue can be found deejaying a poolside day party, a nightclub and a wedding, all in one weekend.
Born and bred in Minneapolis, DJ Kinue studied classical and jazz piano from an early age and attended an Arts School majoring in music. At 14, she snuck into local diverse shows at 1st Avenue/7th St. Entry to see some of the best Minneapolis performances at the time, such as Prince, Soul Asylum, The Breeders, Babes in Toyland and Husker Du. While living in NYC for over a decade, her exposure to old-school house, punk, hip-hop, Latin, and African-infused drumming, she ska-ed her way into deejaying. She has produced large events in the usual-suspect cities like Monaco, London, Marbella, Miami, St Tropez and NYC and her forté comes from the desire to simply create a great party with inspired people.
